Lopez Covid Health Support

Serving Recovers communities:

We are a group of community members whose objective is to support the health of Lopez Island residents and direct caregivers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We plan to work toward this in two ways.:

First is to create or acquire personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer, to make them available to direct caregivers, those working with the public, and eventually to the other residents of Lopez island. Because the CDC, the state of Washington, and San Juan County now recommend everyone wear masks in public, we are starting to supply masks to the general public as they become available.

Second area of support is to utilize the expertise of the health professionals in our group to support (or supplement, as needed) local existing healthcare >infrastructure.

Direct caregivers include EMT's, people at home caring for loved ones, and hired in-home caregivers as well as UW Medicine Lopez Island Clinic and Hamlet House. Those working with the public include people delivering meals and working in essential businesses such as grocery stores.

NEED SUPPLIES? If you represent a group or organization in need of supplies, or have an ill family member, contact Aimee Nassoiy at (anassoiy@yahoo.com) or Marty Clark at (martyclark89@gmail.com). Or you can post your need on the Lopez Recovers website lopezisland.recovers.org.

WANT TO HELP: If you want to help sew masks or just make some for yourself, contact Anne Dawson (anne@lopezislandquiltersstudio.com). If you have rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide to donate that has not expired, contact Denise Clark (deniseonlopez@gmail.com).

WANT TO DONATE: Catherine Washburn Medical Association is helping us to fund our efforts and is accepting donations on our behalf. Please consider a donation to support us. To donate go to: https://catherinewashburnmedical.org/covid-19-helping-our-community/.
