Island Reproductive Health Initiative (IRHI)

Serving Recovers communities:

IRHI works to help prevent unwanted pregnancies and the spread of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) by funding timely, confidential, reproductive health care services on Orcas. We also support sexual health education.

CONDOMS: FREE for anyone in need.

Orcas Community Resource Center (OCRC) 374-A North Beach Road (24 hr. outside office door)

SAFE San Juans 296 Main Street, back of building across walkway from Madrona Bar & Grill. In a basket outside at entryway, Monday - Thursday, 9:00 - 4:00

Ray’s Pharmacy: In a basket on shelf in section that carries condoms, pregnancy tests, lubricants, etc.

Orcas Food Co-op market (Curbside pick-up by placing online order one day before at https://orcasfood.coop/. Not on product list, so just write in either "free condoms" or "IRHI condoms”. You’ll receive a small packet of 6 latex condoms in a bag.)

The Kitchen/Barnacle: Still in the restroom.

PLAN B (MORNING-AFTER PILL) and PREGNANCY TESTS: FREE for IRHI patients. Eligibility for IRHI coverage—anyone who is uninsured, under-insured (health insurance deductible over $250), cannot meet deductible, or for reason of confidentiality is unable to pay for medication.

Ray’s Pharmacy: No prescription needed. Go to Pharmacy window and say, “I’m an IRHI patient and I need Plan B”. Pharmacy Hours: Open M-F/ 9:30 - 6:00, Sat/ 9:30 - 4:00 (Closed 1:00 - 1:30 M-Sat.) REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH CARE: Most Services FREE for IRHI patients. Eligibility for IRHI coverage—anyone who is uninsured, under-insured (health insurance deductible over $250), cannot meet deductible, or for reason of confidentiality is unable to pay for care.

Orcas Family Health Center (OFHC): Call first! 360-376-7778 Identify yourself as an IRHI patient, ask to contact a nurse or doctor, and explain your problem (or say the reason for your call is confidential.) Office hours are limited. Clinic is seeing patients with urgent need and are not sick with Covid-19. On-call provider can be reached when office is closed. Telephone appointments are possible. Birth control pills, Plan B, and condoms may be available at clinic if open. If clinic is closed, prescriptions can be ordered by doctor and picked up at Ray’s pharmacy.

UW Medical Center, Orcas Clinic: Call first! 360-376-2561 Office hours are M-F, 8:30 - 4:00. Identify yourself as an IRHI patient, ask to contact a nurse or doctor, and explain your problem (or say the reason for your call is confidential.) Clinic is seeing patients with urgent need and are not sick with Covid-19, or a telemedicine appointment to speak with a doctor is possible. Prescriptions can be ordered by doctor and picked up at Ray’s Pharmacy.
