San Juan Island Library
Serving Recovers communities:
The San Juan Island Library provides community access to diverse and relevant collections, information resources, and services in support of individual educational, occupational, and recreational interests. The Library offers a welcoming place for community connection and promotes exploration of the joys of reading and of learning, while encouraging the discovery of life’s possibilities.
All of our online resources (ebooks and eaudiobooks, magazines, newspapers, streaming TV and film, language learning, and more) are available to any library card holder through our website. There are many databases that support teaching and learning for teachers and students involved in online schooling.
During COVID-19, we are offering an eCard with online access only to allow more Island residents access to these fun and important resources.
We are also posting three online storytimes per week to support early and elementary literacy, have raised caps for online viewing of entertainment resources, and are beginning to host some library programs through Zoom meetings, including book group and Open Mic.
As always, we provide free, open WiFi access in the library parking lot from 5 am - 10 pm.
As restrictions ease, we will examine other ideas for expanding services safely.
