About Recovers and Supporting Resilient Communities, Inc.

Supporting Resilient Communities, Inc. (“Recovers”) coordinates disaster relief by providing a free organizing platform that connects people who have specific needs with donors and volunteers who can help. This may require us to gather and share certain personal information about our users.

Personal Information

Recovers will only obtain personal information about you, such as your name, address, phone number or other similar information, if you choose to provide such information to us or to a community organizer who uses the Recovers services to coordinate disaster relief efforts. For instance, we will collect this type of information when you create an account, or if you provide personal information to a community organizer. Any personal information that is input to Recovers’s systems, either by you or by a community organizer, will be used by Recovers to manage your account and to help coordinate disaster recovery efforts. Please be aware that your personal information may be shared with donors, volunteers, community organizers, and other individuals and organizations involved in coordinating disaster relief. Also, while Recovers will not ask for any personal information over email, if you provide it to us, we may use and share that information to respond to you and to coordinate disaster relief.

We will not otherwise sell or transfer your personal information without your consent. We will never sell personally identifiable information.

You may delete your personal information from the site at any time, or request that we delete it on your behalf by emailing us at support@recovers.org.

When you visit our website or other applications, we automatically collect and store certain non-personal information, such as your IP address, information about your web browser, the date and time you access our site, which pages you visit on our site, and the internet address of the website you used to link to our site.

Recovers may use software programs or third party service providers, such as Google Analytics, to gather non-personal information in order to monitor and track usage of the Recovers services and applications, and to create summary statistics from this information. We use this type of information to enhance the services we provide, identify system performance issues, and increase the security and integrity of our systems. Recovers and its third party service providers collect this information through the use of cookies (small data files placed on your computer) or other similar tools. Many browsers allow you to disable cookies. You are welcome to do this, but you should note that certain functionality may be hampered if you choose to disable cookies. Please be aware that information collected through Google Analytics is subject to Google, Inc.’s Privacy Policy.

Children’s Privacy

Recovers is a service intended for use by adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. However, to accomplish our objective of coordinating disaster relief, including helping children, it may be necessary at times to collect children’s information through parents, community organizers, or others assisting a child, and to share that information with volunteers, donors, or organizers.

If you are a parent or legal guardian of a child under age 13, we require you to select what information, if any, you would like us to know and share about your child, and to provide that information to us yourself, rather than allowing your child to give us the information directly. You can add your children’s information to your own account. If you believe your child has submitted personal information to us without your approval, please contact us immediately at support@recovers.org, and we will delete that information.
